The mourner commemoration mission in “Eldenfal Ring: Night Rule” is one of the new additions brought by the DLC of “Abandoned Hollow”. The commemorative mission line is a way for the game to tell the story behind the Night Walker fighting in the Round Table Fortress. Although commemorative tasks have narrative purposes, completing them will also reward you with high-quality props related to the character you completed the task with.
If you plan to pursue answers to questions about funeral directors, then you will face a long journey. However, since we already know the route, we have prepared this guide to explain how to complete the funeral director’s memorial mission.
Funeral Master Memorial Mission Guide
The Undertaker is a new playable character in “Eldenfal Ring: Night Rule”. If you want to unlock new skins and two strongest artifacts, it’s best to complete the Undertaker’s commemorative mission. The task line includes a series of steps, from completing regular explorations to finding hidden characters.
Here are all the steps to complete the mourner commemoration task, divided by the chapters you unlocked in your diary.
- Chapter 1: Unlock the Undertaker.
- Chapter 2: Complete a regular expedition and obtain memory fragments.
- Chapter 3: Go to the realm of reminiscence and defeat all nightwalkers.
- Chapter 4: Obtaining Another Fragment of Memory.
- Chapter 5: Searching for Scholars in the Field of Memory.
- Chapter 6: Complete the exploration of “The Face of Night”.
- Chapter 7: Place the severed finger next to the corpse and interact with them。

How to start commemorating the mourners in ‘Eldenfal Ring: The Rule of Night’
To unlock the commemorative mission line of the funeral procession, you must first unlock the character. To unlock Chapters 2 and 3, you need to play as a mourner for a few rounds and collect some memory fragments. If you want to enter Chapter 3 as soon as possible, you need to defeat the Night Demon while playing the role of the Funeral Bearer, but you will eventually unlock it through the game. Moreover, whether you win or lose, or ultimately defeat any Night Demon, it doesn’t matter. You will know if the boss has dropped any fragments, as there will be a message saying ‘found memory fragments’ when returning to the roundtable.
After receiving the first memory fragment, proceed to the diary in the first room on the right corridor. Interact with it and open the undertaker tab. To begin the funeral director’s memorial mission, please enter Chapter 3 and select “Start Remembrance”, which will take you into the realm of remembrance.
For most of the time on this task line, you must complete commemorative tasks in this other dimension and play the role of a funeral director. If you want to return to the regular roundtable meeting, please use the log again and select ‘Postpone Commemoration’.
Chapter 3 of the Funeral Memorial Mission
After starting the third chapter task using the log, you will find yourself in the Iron Menear. Talk to them a few times, and when they say, ‘Therefore… you cannot be allowed to live!’ they will attack. You can quickly defeat them, but after the battle is over, you must be prepared for the next challenge.
The next part of the task requires you to fight against all other night walkers in the roundtable meeting. The best general advice is to always use the skills of the undertaker and leave the ultimate move for use when facing multiple enemies. You can try this task infinitely, so you don’t have to worry about death. However, death will take you back to the starting point of the mission and require you to fight all enemies again.
The executor is the first one to appear outside the room where you are fighting with Timmeniel, but be careful as the executor can block your attack. In the main room, there is a table where you will find hermits and guardians waiting for you. The best choice is to lead a guardian first, as they will stop you from pursuing the hermit.
After the two fell, they went to the room where the small canned goods market was located to search for Wilde. They can use shield grids to block your attacks, so the best strategy is to lure their attacks and use all their strength to attack them after they finish the animation. After defeating Wilder, you must go to the church to face Iron Eye and the attackers. You can lure the raiders back to the previous room to make the battle fair – but try to kill them as quickly as possible, because the Iron Eye will eventually follow you.
After winning the final battle, you will have a conversation with the ironworker and apologize to you. Next, interact with the wall near you that emits blue light and ‘absorb the power of the night’. After absorbing the power of night, you must go to the northwest side of the map and search for scholars outside the Round Table Fortress. Talk to them to obtain a leather monocular case item, and then leave the memorial area through the nearby portal.
The reward for completing this task is a leather monocular glasses case relic, which is a blue relic that is particularly powerful for mourners.
Chapter 5 of the Funeral Master Memorial Mission
To unlock Chapter 5 of the Funeral Master Memorial Mission Line, you must obtain another memory fragment. After obtaining it, enter the diary and select “Start Commemoration” again, but this time in the latest newly added chapter.
You will start the task in front of the round table. Talk to the priestess beside you – a brief conversation ends with you saying ‘I will pray’. Go to the church (you unlock the undertaker’s room), and as you approach the altar, the “pray” option will appear. After a brief scene, she had a conversation with Tie Meinier, who was in the same room as Xiao Can Shi. They will give you a personal goal: to find scholars.
To find scholars, you must first use roundtable discussions in the field of memory and participate in one of the two new expeditions added in the DLC of “Abandoned Hollow” (we chose the “Equalizer” expedition). The exploration team must also be affected by the “Great Hole” Earth movement event. You can embark on this expedition alone or in a team, and when achieving your personal goals, you do not need to kill the ultimate boss of the expedition team. You can wait until the first day is over and die in battle – that still counts.
After the expedition begins, you need to go to the area in the upper left corner of the map. If you look at the in-game map, you will see a red banner icon that marks where you must go to find scholars and complete the personal goals of the undertaker.
The scholar is hiding on the top floor of the castle. To find them, go around from the outside of the castle to the northwest, where there is a spiritual stream (represented by the blue flame icon on the map). Use it to land in the open area at the top of the castle. Enter through the north door and jump from the balcony onto the large rock in the center that is secured by a chain.
Crawl over the side beam from the rock and walk to the opening on the east side. It will take you to that room where the scholar is trapped in a huge crystal. Interact with them to obtain the ‘primitive core’, then talk to scholars until they have nothing to say. At that time, you will have achieved the personal goals of the funeral director, and then you can continue the game as you wish. Just make sure not to close or return to the game when leaving, otherwise you will lose mission items and must repeat this process.
After returning to the Round Table Fortress, go to the church to talk to scholars. They will give you two things: night glass and binding paper. After obtaining these items, the second commemorative task of the mourners is completed, so you can leave through the Memory Gate in the same room. Completing the second task will reward you with the ‘Funeraler’s Holy Grail’, which you can equip in the relic ritual menu.
Chapter Seven of the Funeral Master’s Memorial
The final step of the funeral director’s recollection task line is simple, but equally difficult as the first few steps. If you check the log, you will only find Chapter 6. To unlock Chapter 7, you don’t need memory fragments like before. You only need to queue up to participate in the “Night’s Face” expedition and complete the game by defeating the Night Lord, Herhorst. The battle is very long, because there are two stages in Herhorst, so it is necessary to be prepared.
After defeating the boss, you will be teleported to an abandoned version of the Round Table Fortress. Before doing anything else, take a look at an item in your backpack called a ‘severed finger’. Now, as you enter the building and cross the round table, you will see the corpse sitting ahead. Can’t come into contact with the corpse yet!
To complete the funeral procession’s memorial task line, first approach the body, open the backpack, and put down the severed finger. When you do this, the funeral director will say, ‘That’s enough… I believe.’ After the item lands, you can interact with the corpse by selecting ‘Touch the Corpse’, triggering a cutscene animation. This step is crucial. If you interact with a corpse while your fingers are still in the inventory, you will complete the campaign but not the commemorative mission, so you must repeat the expedition to correctly complete this step.
When you return to the roundtable meeting, you will see a notification saying that the commemorative task line has been completed. If you check your diary, you can now read Chapter 7 of ‘The Funeral Master’. In addition, you will also receive two items: a commemorative skin for the mourner and a glass necklace relic, the latter of which is a green relic and one of the best relics in this profession.
